A while back Sharp announced the AQUOS Pad tablet, revealing an interesting product with specifications worthy of being taken into account.

Today Japanese carrier NTT Docomo has unveiled its portfolio of smartphones and tablets for the summer of 2014, says GSMInsider. And one of the devices presented is none other than the Sharp AQUOS Pad, which also goes by the name of the Docomo AQUOS Pad SH-06F.

The AQUOS Pad comes with a 7-inch IGZO display that offers FHD resolution (meaning 1920 x 1200 pixels). Power comes from a Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, the same chip powering the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The slate is fitted with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (which can be expanded up to 128GB in case of need).

In the photography department, the tablet boasts two cameras, in the form of 8.1MP one on the back and 2.1MP as the secondary camera). If all I told you so far sounds pretty appealing, let me go on and note that Android 4.4.2 KitKat is the default operating system, so you won’t need to wait for updates.

Other nifty specifications include VoLTE, waterproof capabilities, NFC, Docomo Wi-Fi, World Wing, and NOTTV. Last but not least, you can use the tablet to place phone calls, too.

Currently, the Sharp AQUOS Pad is up for pre-order starting today in Japan from Docomo, but pricing specifications have not been revealed yet.
