Sharon Stone has settled a lawsuit she had brought against a cosmetic surgeon. She had sued Dr. Renato Calabria for defamation and libel in December last year, charging he had falsely claimed to have given her a face-lift.
The doctor's lawyer, Arthur Barens, sustained at the moment that his client never represented to anyone that he had performed cosmetic surgery on Sharon Stone.
"All he has ever done is discuss vertical face surgery, a technique he innovated, and articles have speculated that Stone had the procedure", he said.
The article that made Stone angry and determined her to take legal action has appeared in an US Weekly magazine and was entitled "Did Sharon Stone Have Surgery?". Dr. Calabria was also cited by In Touch magazine, but he made no comments referring directly to Stone in the story.
The suit was settled, but the terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The doctor has agreed, however, to perform a number of
free reconstructive surgeries for a charity of Stone's choice.
