On-set romance is not uncommon in Hollywood, especially if the equation has two single actors in it. In many cases, the relationship that begins while working together barely makes it until said movie is out on DVD, but there are those few that make an exception to the rule.

In the first instance, we have the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, whose love affair immediately succumbed to media pressure and ended abruptly with the annulment of their engagement, and Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz, who met on the set of 'Sahara' and called it quits soon after the movie had finished its run in theaters.

The few 'exceptions' to the rule include, first and foremost, Hollywood's golden couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who met while shooting for 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' and, hopefully, Sharon Stone and Christian Slater. The 'Basic Instinct' star met the newly-divorced actor on the set of Emilio Estevez's 'Bobby' and hooked up almost on the spot.

Rumors about them dating began to circulate as soon as Slater's divorce was finalized at the end of November and when they showed up at a couple of 'Booby' premieres looking very much as if they were an item. Just like in the other on-set romances, both denied vehemently that they were more than friends... until now.

Stone and Slater confirmed the rumors (without actually doing it) a couple of days ago, when they showed up together at a party at the (in)famous Chateau Marmont, hand in hand and giggling like teenagers. They also told the media that they have plans to spend the Christmas holiday together at an unspecified location.

A source told the newspapers that the 48-year-old actress and the 37-year-old actor are in a really good place now, mainly because they have so much in common. 'They're both really happy - but they don't have long-term expectations. It's a fun fling for the holidays and Sharon is a good influence. She rarely drinks and has three kids. It's a good match for now.', the spy explained.

Christian Slater is also father of two: a daughter, Eliana (5) and a son, Jaden (7).
