In a bid to show women at home watching The Talk that makeup is an option and not a must, the ladies hosting the talk show have kicked off the new season in great style: by ditching makeup and styling altogether.

A fragment from the show is below, embedded at the end of this post.

Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Julie Chen all showed up on set in their best spa attire, rocking zero makeup and styling.

To drive the point home, they also used makeup removing tissues to prove that they were not wearing any.

Guest Jamie Lee Curtis was the first to prove it to the audience, which really shouldn’t come as a surprise knowing that she refused to dye her greying hair on the basis that she’d be lying to her fans if she did.

“There's not many people that would go on TV in front of millions with no make-up, so to be in a group that are willing to do that together is really cool,” “Roseanne” star Sara Gilbert said.

“It shows that we're willing to show parts of our lives that not everybody is willing to show. We really are girlfriends and because we feel safe with each other, we're willing to show more of ourselves to the public,” she added.

Sheryl cut in to joke that they would all be back to “normal” on the next show.

Even so, their message is an empowering one especially since few are the women working in showbiz, be it in television or in film, who are willing to do an entire show / interview bare-faced.

“Women of The Talk r so brave to bare their natural faces w/o makeup on today & tomorrows show. Proud to b with them & honor truth & beauty,” Jamie Lee Curtis tweeted after shooting for the show was done.
