“The Osbournes” reality show, one of the first series of the kind to become a hit worldwide, was “the biggest mistake” that Sharon and Ozzy ever made in their life, Sharon says in a new interview cited by Yahoo!.

Though it helped them get to where they are today, cementing their reputation and introducing them to a whole new segment of the audience they could not reach before, the show was a curse because it also meant spending less time with the kids and, this way, missing out on important experiences they had at the time.

“We both worked to continue a lifestyle we had become accustomed to and we had to travel so my kids spent quite a time away from us and you can never get that time back,” Sharon says with typical candor.

Still, it wasn’t all bad even though, at first, it sure felt that way.

“It was the biggest mistake I ever did, but would I have wanted to live a lesser life? You make the most of what you have. I don't know how, but Jack and Kelly came out just great,” she adds.

However, the same media outlet cites Ozzy as being somewhat of a different mind than his wife on the topic: indeed, the reality show made them a lot of money and boosted their profiles tremendously, but it also meant that each family member developed certain issues from coping with this much fame.

“The kids couldn't handle it, my wife couldn't handle it: She had colon cancer. On the one hand it was phenomenal, on the other hand I had to watch my family [suffer]. Would we do it again? I dunno. I don't think so,” he says.

He does have a point though, as both Jack and Kelly, their two children featured on the show, said in subsequent interviews that they developed drug and alcohol problems because of the immense pressure and hectic lifestyle. Ozzy himself fell off the wagon for the same reason.
