Sharon Osbourne Is Disgusting

Way too many details before lunch...

It's nice to see some of the stars out there really taking an interest in the well being and spiritual comfort of us lesser mortals. But in fact, I think that we should start a petition or a campaign that allows fans or just curious readers in for an occasional thrill to sue the celebrities in question whenever they come out with a statement that prevents us from eating properly for two days. I mean yes, I know that we're actually the ones doing the reading, but at the very least they should provide warnings, say things like 'I am about to make a gross comment, read at your own risk" before actually saying the doomed words.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I would only sue celebrities that make offensive or simply disgusting comments of their own free will - statements given while under the influence of alcohol and drugs are consequently not included. But Sharon Osbourne was most definitely awake, alive and happy when she started talking about how she's had excruciatingly painful cosmetic surgery and she decided never to go under the knife again. Sharon, I remind you, is 54 and at the last count, she has had gastric bypass, a boob job, some facial surgery and a few other bits and pieces of nip/tuck.

But she claims that she has had enough. She has recently stated that her body is "tired. I've put it through too much, abused it and my body is knackered. I am content with how I look at my age and I'm really scared of ending up looking like those people whose faces are ironed and foreheads don't move". Oh well, if she says so.

Be warned! Here comes the gross part - so, if you'd rather enjoy your lunch, then skip to the next piece of news. But if you're strong and brave and you can put up with this, then read on - and you'll get to see my point in a minute.

"I regret having my breasts done because I'm never happy with them" she says. Wait a minute - didn't she state about a week or two ago that her breast implants were the best thing that ever happened to her? I'm confused. Here goes the gross part. "But the most painful was having my legs lifted. They literally cut all the way around the top of your thigh, pull up the skin like a stocking, then cut the excess away and sew it back on. When I came round I thought they'd sewn my legs together the swelling was so bad. So right now, I've really, really had it with surgery".

I just can't seem to understand why - if things were truly so bad - would she feel the need to share it with us? Does she need our encouragement? Admiration at her bravery for stoically suffering through a beauty ordeal that she put herself through alone and of her own free will? Our sympathy? Does she need a hug? Somebody better make it clear, 'cause I'm lost. Anyway, I'm going to choose to believe the gross details were aimed at putting other women off plastic surgery. Now you see - she almost deserves that hug. Almost.
