It is known that gaming enthusiasts would often go to great lengths to make sure that their rigs are as customized and solemn as possible, which is why a gaming rig always has special peripherals, controllers, decorations and other features that distinguish it from the dull, mainstream systems of everyday life. Now, Sharkoon seems to have increased the available length at which gamers may choose to go when personalizing their machines, by introducing the Black Edition of its FireGlider USB mouse.

The original FireGlider wired USB mouse was initially introduced in 2009 and was named as such because of its flaming theme. The new look does away with the fire, replacing it with an all-black coating and a satin surface. This, however, seems to be the only changed attribute of the product, as its feature set and specifications retain their old values.

The laser mouse has seven buttons, out of which six are freely programmable. Secondly, the mouse uses an ergonomic design, has a smooth running and a finely adjustable scroll wheel and special grip areas that offer a maximum hold. Not only that, but the device even has on-board memory, used for macros, and boasts a DPI switch with a color display (six steps). Other specifications of the FireGlider include a key response of between 3ms and 16ms, a Weight tuning system (max. 19.5 ), an Agilent ADNS-6010 laser sensor and a USB report rate of 500Hz.

“The ergonomically formed body of the FireGlider mouse fits pleasantly in the hand while the thumb pad provides a solid grip in even the most hectic gaming situations. With the weight tuning system in the bottom of the mouse, up to 19.5 grams can be added in 7 different configurations to maximize personal comfort and performance,” the product page notes.

The Sharkoon FireGlider gaming mouse is already shipping and has a price of 24.49 Euro.
