It has a 4-pin 3.5 mm TRRS stereo jack that lets it plug into the DualShock controller

Headphones and speakers are, supposedly, universal, but that's not perfectly true. Some consumer electronics really do need special attention and/or ports.

The GSone Professional Gaming Headset from Sharkoon is one example of this. It has just been made compatible with the PlayStation 4 game console from Sony, via a 4-pin 3.5 mm TRRS stereo jack.

The jack is meant to be connected to the DualShock controller, and transmits both game sound and voice through a cable of 1.1 meters / 3.6 feet.

You also get adapter cables for smartphones, MP3 players and mobile gaming devices, with TRRS connectors existing for Apple iPhone 5s, Samsung Galaxy S5, and PlayStation Vita.

There's a PC cable (1.4 meters / 4.59 feet) too, of course, with two conventional 3.5 mm stereo jacks, making the total cable length 2.5 meters / 8.20 feet.

Finally, the newcomer has 53 mm drivers, circumaural ear cups with large cushions, and automatic microphone muting. You just need to turn the mic up, vertically (this is also known as Tilt-up mute)

The price of the Sharkoon GSone Professional Gaming Headset is €39.99 / $39.99 ($54.11 if exchange rates are to be believed, though, hopefully, they don't apply, as usual).
