There is a trend beginning to shape up with Microsoft product boxes. It started with Windows Vista and the Microsoft 2007 Office System. And the Redmond Company does not indicate any signs of slowing down. At the 2007 edition of Microsoft's Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC 2007) in Los Angeles, Microsoft has unveiled not only the name of what has since yesterday been Windows Server Longhorn, but also a product boxshot. As you will be able to see from the video embedded at the bottom, courtesy of Nick, White, Microsoft
Program Manager, Chairman Bill Gates unveiled Windows Server 2008, and delivered a sneak preview of the product in his speech at WinHEC 2007.

The image included at the top of this article will offer you a more detailed and clear view of how the box for Windows Server 2008 will look like. The design is shared with the packagings of Windows Vista and the 2007 office System. And believe it or not, Microsoft has set up a tutorial on how to open Windows Vista boxes. I have not been able to find similar resources for Office 2007 or for Windows Server 2008, but if you follow this link you'll be able to access Microsoft's guideline for getting inside the Vista box, and the same will go for the other products.

Windows Server 2008 is currently in beta 3 phase, having reached its first public milestone and, as of yet, it has proven to be a success. "Windows Server, of course, has been phenomenally successful. It's the primary server used throughout the world for all the key tasks: file sharing, Web hosting, mail hosting, database hosting. This is a product that has driven incredible growth and success for both Microsoft and the industry. We still use the "Longhorn" codename to talk about this. It's really a very major product. It will certainly be in terms of reliability a big step up every time we do a server release. We're very proud of the steps we take forward there. We just put out the beta for this, so-called beta 3, and we've had more than 100,000 downloads of this, so it's a major, major product for us," revealed Bill Gates.
