Some of the latest Developer Training Kits released for Microsoft products are focused on technologies offered as a part of the Office 2010 launch. In this sense, accompanying the Office 2010 Developer Training Kit is a similar resource, but focused on the most recent iteration of SharePoint. The SharePoint 2010 RTM Developer Training Kit is now live on the Microsoft Download Center. Offered as a free resource, the SharePoint 2010 dev kit comes with the promise of providing advanced guidance on how to build on top of the successor of SharePoint 2007.

“The SharePoint 2010 Developer Training Kit provides developers with deep guidance on how to develop for SharePoint 2010. Through PowerPoint decks, Hands-On Labs, Source Code, and Instructor-Led Videos, the developer kit walks you through an array of important developer topics--including Developer Roadmap, Visual Studio tooling, Workflow, Business Connectivity Services, and much, much more,” Microsoft noted.

SharePoint 2010 and Office 2010 were released to manufacturing on April 15th, 2010, and are already available for download to developers. Of course, there are additional resources from Microsoft that devs can take advantage of when it comes down to developing for SharePoint 2010. In this sense, MSDN is not offering only the RTM bits for SharePoint 2010 and Office 2010, but also dev resources. In addition, Channel9 also delivers a consistent collection of dev content and training, also free of charge.

“SharePoint 2010 provides the business collaboration platform for developers to rapidly build solutions using familiar tools while leveraging a rich set of out of the box features. Visual Studio 2010 and SharePoint Designer 2010 make developers more productive and Visual Studio Team Foundation Server delivers support for application lifecycle management. Developers can integrate Line of Business data in SharePoint 2010 with read/write capability delivered by Business Connectivity Services. Sandboxed Solutions can be deployed to a shared hosting environment to limit the impact of unpredictable code to the other applications in use,” the Redmond company added.
