14 DAY TRIAL // The always gracious Shania Twain had a less than gracious moment at the 2011 CMT Music Awards last night, when she slipped and fell onstage. In a video made for her fans after the awards show, she explains exactly what happened.

The incident happened as the singer made her way onstage to present the nominees and announce the winner for the Music Award for Male Video of the Year, which eventually went to Blake Shelton.
From the video, it would seem that the floor had been recently waxed, which could have made it more slippery and, thus, dangerous for anyone in heels.
To her credit, Shania laughed off the incident and was the lady fans know and love – and she didn’t change anything about her attitude in the video she made afterwards.
Where she could have easily blamed organizers, Shania chooses to laugh off the incident and blame it instead on her shoes, which she might auction off or keep as a souvenir of the “most embarrassing” moment of her life.
“I’m just trying to get all this adrenaline out because I just made a complete fool of myself and experienced one of life’s most embarrassing moments, and I’ve lived through that!” the singer says in the video.
“I’m here to tell you that I now realize I don’t need a stunt double… to wipe out on my way to the CMT Awards stage. I didn’t hurt myself. I have a bit of a sore stomach. That’s about it,” she adds.
“I’m going to auction off those shoes actually!” Shania laughs. “I want to get rid of them as soon as I can. I never want to see those shoes again. Or maybe I’ll keep them as a souvenir,” she adds.
