On her way between two concerts, Shakira spared some time (11 minutes to be more precise) to play her smashing hit, 'Hips Don't Lie' before the World Cup final opened Sunday night. Surrounded by tens of dancers and on the beats of the drums, the artist put on an incendiary show for the 72,000 persons present on the stadium to see the final match between France and Italy.
Before her duet with Wyclef Jean, the Il Divo pop-opera group performed a remake of the World Cup anthem 'The Times of Our Lives'. Almost 400 actors were hired to act as crazed fans helped make the atmosphere even more incendiary on the stadium.
Among the spectators for the grand final (and for Shakira's show) were also former American President Bill Clinton and his daughter Chelsea, Eva Longoria's boyfriend Tony Parker, the French President Jaques Chirac, Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, UN Secretary Kofi Annan and South African President Thabo Mbeki.
