14 DAY TRIAL // If you’re a fan of NBC’s The Voice and your favorite judge / mentor so far has been Shakira, my advice to you is to enjoy her presence as long as you still can because, once season 6 wraps, she’s out the door for good.
The news probably doesn’t come as a shock for those of you who have been keeping up to speed with all the changes in the judges lineups these past couple of years but, even so, it’s something else to hear it straight from Shakira and not just as an unconfirmed rumor.
We already know that Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams will be on the lineup in season 7, coming to replace Cee Lo Green (who is also done for good) and Christina Aguilera (who is now on a mommy break).
Since Shakira stood in for Aguilera so far and Gwen only signed a one-season contract, it was widely assumed that Shakira would return sometime in the future.
“No, I don’t have any plans of coming back because this was always a temporary thing for me to do,” she says. “I’m not really a TV celebrity and I have to prep for the tour and being a mother.”
