Shailene Woodley, who got her big break in George Clooney’s critically acclaimed “The Descendants,” has been attached to “The Amazing Spider-Man” sequel, which Marc Webb will direct.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Woodley will play Mary Jane Watson, a role that was previously played by Kirsten Dunst in the Sam Raimi trilogy.
Fans will know that, besides Andrew Garfield, who reprises his role as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Emma Stone is also signed to return as Gwen Stacy.
In other words, ladies and gentlemen, expect a love triangle of the finest quality, or so we hope.
“The Amazing Spider-Man” came out earlier this year and, though not registering phenomenal success at the box office (it still made a profit, though), earned pretty solid reviews with the critics and fans, thus paving the way for a sequel.
“The Amazing Spider-Man” will actually be a trilogy.
