14 DAY TRIAL // Rumor has it that the artist we all know as Shaggy has died, but, fortunately, it's all a hoax. Someone killed off Orville Richard Burrell on Twitter and added the hashtag #RIPShaggy.
"[Shaggy] is like a cat with 9 lives … but I can happily report that he’s alive and kicking and in the same building as me right now as we speak," his reps told TMZ.
In 2012, he put out a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," the result of his collaboration with Eve.
Contact Music informs that the hashtag was added at about the same time as he was listed as deceased on Wikipedia, but nobody really knows which came first. The website described that he had gotten into a bar fight in LA, and had been killed there.
