Developers will probably deliver the project in July 2015

One of the few successful Kickstarter projects turned into games, Shadowrun Returns is about to take on the crowdfunding route once again. Harebrained Schemes is mostly known for the sequel to one of the most beloved cyberpunk franchises, but also for bringing tabletop fans a brand new game called Golem Arcana.

Having already finished two Kickstarter projects successfully, we could say Harebrained Schemes are veterans of crowdfunding, so we can be sure they will be very well prepared for their next campaign.

Speaking of which, being a Shadowrun Returns backer has quite a few advantages besides being among the first to play the game, as in we’re also the first to receive any news related to the game.

What updates developers plan to bring in the not-so-distant future, what new features are being taken into account and stuff like that. Recently, I’ve received a Kickstarter update from Shadowrun Returns developers informing me they are planning a comeback on the crowdfunding website.

I couldn’t have been happier that I will get to continue my adventures in the Shadowrun universe. I’m convinced that many fans can’t wait to pledge to a new project that has this franchise at the center.

Unfortunately, Harebrained Schemes were a bit cryptic on the object of the upcoming Kickstarter campaign, but I’ve been digging through the comments on Shadowrun Returns’ Kickstarter page and I believe I have found some new info that might shed some light on the upcoming campaign.

The new campaign may be released in July/August 2015

Well, it looks like the folks at Harebrained Schemes are now hiring a Content Designer who will work from the studio’s HQ. His main job will be to “contribute to the next Shadowrun Returns campaign.”

Moreover, the announcement mentions that this is a freelance contract which is supposed to begin immediately and run through the end of July, 2015 “with the potential for work in the future.”

There’s no doubt about it that Harebrained Schemes are looking to finance a new campaign for Shadowrun Returns, yet I can’t help but wonder if there’s anything else they got in mind.

Given the fact that the teaser doesn’t offer any details on when we might get further details on the future Kickstarter campaign, we refuse to make any speculations for now.

However, we’re pretty sure Harebrained Schemes will come out with an official statement very soon due to the fact that the Kickstarter campaign is expected to kick off on January 2015.

If you haven't got the chance to play Harebrained Schemes' cyberpunk RPG, by all means check out our Shadowrun Returns review and see what you've been missing all this time.
