Developer Flying Wild Hog has just dropped the release window for its first-person shooter Shadow Warrior, due out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles sometime in late September.

Publisher Devolver Digital has announced on its website that Shadow Warrior will be available in both digital as well as retail forms, going for $40 / €30 on both platforms, just like the Steam version does.

The game is a remake of the cult classic 1997 shooter from 3D Realms, following the story of Lo Wang as he slashes his way to justice through armies of goons and fire-breathing demons.

Apart from a lot of shooting, the game also features "fully destructible bicycles" and a lot of other zany stuff, and some surprisingly competent melee fighting mechanics using a deadly katana, in addition to a lot of action movie stereotypes and cheesy one-liners.

"Our fans have been very vocal about bringing Shadow Warrior to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One so we're absolutely thrilled to be working with our friends at Majesco to put Wang in a box later this year," Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker says.

The newly announced release window means that the game will come out for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms, exactly one year after its release on PC, on September 26, 2013.
