14 DAY TRIAL // Shadow Warrior 2 is official as developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Devolver Digital have just revealed the new action shooter through a trailer and some screenshots. Among the new features is an online 4-player cooperative mode.
Shadow Warrior was a cult classic of a bygone era but publisher Devolver Digital wanted to bring it back into the mainstream and tapped Polish studio Flying Wild Hog, of Hard Reset fame, to reboot its retro-styled action.
The new Shadow Warrior was a hit, delivering bloody action across multiple devices, including PC but also PS4 and Xbox One, where it developed a loyal following thanks to its tongue-in-cheek style and polished gameplay mechanics.
Shadow Warrior 2 is coming next year
Now, after a bit of teasing, the two companies confirm that Shadow Warrior 2 is going to debut on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2016.
"Shadow Warrior 2 is the stunning evolution of Flying Wild Hog’s offbeat first-person shooter following the further misadventures of former corporate shogun Lo Wang. Now surviving as a reclusive mercenary on the edge of a corrupted world, the formidable warrior must again wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world," Devolver explains.
Cooperative mode and procedurally generated levels are included
Besides new adventures for everyone's favorite mercenary, Lo Wang, the new title brings forth a long-awaited four-player online cooperative mode, allowing players to work together and defeat hordes of demons using swords, gun, magic, and much more.
The game also packs in procedurally generated levels, as players will have to complete random missions in order to attain better gear and ancient relics.

You can expect to hear more about Shadow Warrior 2 next week, as Devolver Digital is running its own press event in Los Angeles separate from E3 2015.
