Without a doubt, the Internet is a pretty big place nowadays and, to some extent, poses as many dangers as the real world (if not more) for children, who might be very easily drawn into certain potentially dangerous situations by child molesters.

And since the exploitation of children via the internet is growing at an alarming pace, more and more law-enforcement agencies from all over the world are starting to dedicated more resources to taskforces whose main mission is to apprehend these people and put them behind bars (such as the ICAC - Internet Crimes Against Children organization set-up by the US Department of Justice).

However, in order to be able to thoroughly prosecute and convict such an offender, some pretty serious IT forensics tools are required in order to gather evidence, such as the Shadow 2 presented by Vroom Technologies.

Voom's patented technology allows a computer forensics investigator immediate access to digital evidence from a suspect or victim computer while maintaining forensic integrity of that evidence for use at trial.

Not only does the Shadow provide immediate access (i.e., no imaging time; no virtual viewing set-up, etc.) it enables presentation of evidence in its native and intuitive form (just as the suspect would view it on his or her computer).

The device is also extremely easy to operate, since users will have to simply connect the Shadow and turn it on, after a few seconds (green light) booting the suspect computer.

The Shadow ensures the suspect computer never receives a write and remains forensically sound, since the Shadow only writes to its own internal drive.

Voom Technologies, CEO, David Biessener commented, "Voom is steadfastly dedicated to the mission of protecting children, and we offer exclusive support to ICAC Taskforce members in an effort to help stem the tide of the manipulation of the internet that targets the innocence of our children.

“We strive to meet the growing cybercrime technology needs of those tireless investigators on whom the burden of bringing these perpetrators to justice falls, and Voom's Shadow 2 does just that," concluded Mr. Biessener.

shameful marketing. It's a surveillance tool, not a magic wand. There is no direct link between this product and protecting children. ask any social worker.
