"Sex and the City" Airbrushed to Death

- The four leading ladies get the photoshop "make me pretty" special

By: Monica Gaza, Entertainment News Editor

For all "Sex and the City" die-hard fans out there, there's good and bad news. Let's start with the good one: the promo pictures for the movie (which will hit theaters in May) have just been released. The bad news is that they won't turn out to be as much extraordinary funny as they are
due to the massive airbrushing treatment their protagonists have received. Admittedly, the four leading ladies are looking good in these shots, however, it all turns slightly comical when we think of how what we see in the photos blatantly contradicts what we know to be the real-life looks of the four Manolo-wearing fictional New Yorkers.

It's not uncommon for stars to receive the airbrushing treatment on movie posters, movie promo shots and the likes; in fact, it would be truly shocking to see a set on non-airbrushed such shots, with the protagonist looking somehow less than perfect. However, there's a big difference between "a little retouching" and "making someone (say, Kim Cattral) look like she just took a flower bath and as a result, her contours are about to fade into her white background." However, we can at least be thankful that the SATC protagonists have not received the "Keira Knightley special" and have not had any of their body parts slightly inflated, enhanced or spray-painted on, like it happened when flat-chested Knightley had her boobs enhanced for a King Arthur poster.

The SATC is coming back with a vengeance, again, and by the look of things, it's set to test even the show's loyal fans' patience. There has been an avalanche of hints, clues, on-set gossip and promo shots lately, which have taken over our imagination and almost quelled our curiosity in finally seeing the movie. Enjoy the promo shots attached to this article, but don't look too closely: you may go blind at the sight of the girls' almost translucent skin or seeing that Kim Cattral's shoes don't match the rest of her outfit in the "falling flowers" shot.
