Humans have a tendency to be driven by their ? intellects, at least when they are looking at other humans around them. And their intellects are an intricate network composed of interwoven threads. There are only a few names on the labels of the more important threads: sex, violence, racism, superstars, drugs. Sure, there are others, but it seems none as interesting as the previous ones.

I am convinced it's easy to see. If my article had had a title without any of those words, would you have still read it, or would you have gone straight to the next, that had a more appealing content? The way your curiosity works is based on the things you consider as being important for your person. And if you are predisposed to read something about violence rather than small furry animals, or something about super-stars rather than the workings of the universe, it's clear what kind of personality you really have, even if you won't admit it.

If I want to go further, I could say that stars, racism and violence are a sub-chapter of the big book regarding sex, 'cause there's obviously a big chance that you would have sex with a celebrity just for what it represents. A star can be easily seen as the Alpha male or female of the herd. And violence? It's the way used (for thousands of years) to determine who is the fittest to procreate. Racism? As lion males kill the offspring of other males to determine the survival of their own cubs, so do some humans feel a strange desire to keep others away, just that they've found a complex way to name this feeling. Sure, there are other factors to consider and - in time - "mutations" of the initial racism have been born. The gene pool and the transmission of genes are decisive aspects, the same as the evolution of society over time. But, in the end, it comes to the same core idea. Everything can be seen as linked directly to sex. And the more I use the word "sex", the more I stir up your? curiosity.

Further proof is the number or reads obtained by articles that have references to sex, compared to those who are concerned with health or other "unimportant" stuff, at least according to Softpedia visitors. The top three articles by "reads" (in the last year) are "Take the Kid out of the Room: Three for Porn and Porn for... All!", "Why Are They Famous?", "Sexy and Thin" and an interview with Cicciolina. And the first article unrelated to sex? I don't think it even enters Top 10. Is it because you don't have where to choose from, or is it because your time is too precious to waste reading something that doesn't involve sex? Let's face it, you would have felt at home in Gomorra or Caligula's court. Just type "sex" on any search engine and you'll be surprised to see the results. 700.000.000 results on Google and 480.000.000 using Yahoo. Go get them!
