For all the ladies out there with an inclination for shopping in outrageously expensive shops, who have a loaded credit card and care for an extravagant adventure on American soil, here's the ultimate challenge: dig deep in your pockets and fish out no more and no less than $24,000 (plus airfare from wherever in the world you happen to live) and splash out on a trendy lady's ultimate fantasy. No, I'm not talking about anything involving miracle diets, plastic surgery or (fe)male prostitution rings - but it all has a little (more) to do with sex. "Sex and the City" that is - and the fantasy I'm talking about is in fact any SATC die-hard fan's ultimate dream: a five-day New York extravaganza complete with attending the movie's May 27 premiere.
"It's a real fantasy for women. They still talk about this show all around the world," states the founder of the high-end travel company which - in exchange for quite a hefty amount - will make your ultimate "Sex and the City" experience truly unforgettable. Destination on Location (the company who came up with the SATC-friendly idea) promises "a five-night re-creation of everything Samantha, Charlotte, Miranda and Carrie would do," which includes such things as limo ride to the Plaza Athenee hotel, spa treatments, manicures and pedicures at an exclusive SoHo club, exclusive shopping trip and cocktail party at Jimmy Choo. Welcome filled with gift cards for stores such as Jimmy Choo and Takashimaya included.
"The power of Sex and the City is really so strong globally, it has a huge appeal," one of the tour's organizers stated. The tour will only be available to eight to twelve ladies at a time, and for those clients who will want to get even more "in synch" with their favorite SATC character, there are also specific, character-based trips included in the package. "Miranda-types will take a laid-back shopping trip and go for a jog in Central Park.
Those who like artsy Charlotte will go gallery-hopping, while sex-starved Samantha wanna-bes will head for Babeland, a sex-toy shop in SoHo," the organizers promise. Well, for all you SATC fans out there, what are you waiting for?
