A baby rescued from the sewage system in Jinhua, Zhejiang province in China has been returned to his family, reports are saying.

Hospital officials have refused to comment on the legal status of the child that got the name Baby No. 59, after his incubator number.

However, The Daily Telegraph quotes one rep saying that the boy's grandparents discharged him.

“We just know that the family came yesterday, accompanied by county public security officers, and took away the baby," he notes.

As I told you, the child's 22-year-old mother watched as rescuers struggled to free the baby from a sewer pipe, after giving birth to him in a toilet in her building.

As of yet, she has not been detained and one law enforcement source suggests that she will “probably not face charges.”
