Actress’ first product of the kind is getting rave reviews

Lindsay Lohan launched Sevin Nyne, a self-tanning mist designed in collaboration with tanner Lorit Simon, via Sephora on April 15. Although initially welcomed with nothing but sneers, especially since Lohan is no stranger to streaked, orange fake tans herself, the product is now garnering raving reviews on the Sephora website, as established beauty publications are hailing the new spray mist as one of the cheapest, safest and most convenient products of the kind.

For starters, Sevin Nyne does not include chemicals and has never been tested on animals. It does include caramel, though, Goji berry extract and Chardonnay to get the antioxidant and moisturizing properties of the self-tanner, which make it as delicious as it is healthy. Plus, using a fake tanner instead of going to the tanning salon or even getting that bronzed look naturally on the beach is countless times healthier, since we avoid unnecessary risks and still look as stunning as it gets.

“For your benefit, the spray was infused with caramel, Goji berry extract and Chardonnay to help add antioxidant and moisturizing properties to the mix, and was never tested on animals. As for the environment, the spray is being packaged in an environmentally-friendly aerosol can [which apparently exists] that’s made completely of recycled aluminum. Also, the mixture inside the can doesn’t contain any CFCs, or Chloroflourocarbons; the main reason for ozone depletion in the stratosphere. The luxury tanning spray is also said to provide an even-looking, natural tan much more like what you would actually get from exposure to the sun, but without the risk of any damage to your skin.” Examiner writes in a review of the product, which has already gotten Sephora customers singing its praise.

Secondly, there is also the question of the price. A spray can by Lindsay Lohan sells for $35, which might seem a bit more than with regular self-tanners, but is considerably cheaper than going to the salon. The first comparison is not even warranted, expert reviews say, because Sevin Nyne is much better than any other self-tanning mist available, offering a tan that is the closest thing to a natural one, minus the health cons.

“And reasonable, it is. The 5oz spray [the first – and only – product from the line released so far] is priced at just $35, which may sound a bit much for a spray tanner at first, but might actually be worth it when given a second look. A quality, even, possibly orange spray tan in a salon will cost you at least $35, if not more, for a single spray. Lohan’s spray, on the other hand, is reusable and won’t cost you a trip to the salon every time you need a quick spritz.” Examiner says, adding that, if the can only contained about five applications, it would still save tan lovers a good $140 on salon visits.

All in all, Sevin Nyne might have been welcomed with ridicule and skepticism but, as it turns out, it was one of the best business moves Lindsay made in a really long while.
