Lindsay Lohan’s leggings collection has proven to be an immense hit, despite the fact that the fashion industry and many skeptics in the media predicted otherwise. Now, with Sevin Nyne, the tanning mist that Lindsay has recently launched and that will become widely available on April 15, it seems that whatever the star touches turns to gold – or to bronze, to be more accurate, as NY Mag says in The Cut section.

The actress’ endeavors in other fields than her own profession have often been welcomed with sneers, and the same has happened when she has announced that she has been working on a new self-tanner that she would release to help girls always look as fabulous as she does. Now, as the first reviews for the freshly launched product are coming in, it seems that her choice for tanning mist has been more than inspired.

“Lindsay devised the product with Lorit Simon, a ‘tanning expert’ who has bronzed the starlet over the years for events and fashion spreads. DHA is the active ingredient, and the spray doesn’t contain any chemicals. Other ingredients include caramel, Chardonnay extracts, gogi berry, and a sugar-coconut base. The color lasts for four to five days, which isn’t very long, so you’d have to buy a lot of it to stay tanned sans sun for the summer. But hey, Lindsay’s got to make money in These Times, too. And we will admit, it kind of sounds delicious.” The Cut writes about the new product.

In all fairness, most beauty experts and publications seem thrilled about the new product. It doesn’t contain any chemicals, looks good, and smells even better. The $35 price tag for a bottle might seem a bit too much for some, but it’s still not enough to deter most women (be them Lindsay fans or not) from waiting impatiently until it becomes widely available on April 15, as part of an exclusive Sephora deal.

Lindsay herself is also admittedly head over heels with the new product, since she only uses Sevin Nyne (a play upon two of her favorite numbers) to get a fabulous bronzed glow, as her business partner, Kristi Kaylor, says for the New York Daily News. The actress has “gallons” of the tanning mist at home, as well as her own machine. Moreover, according to Kaylor, Lindsay has been involved in the creative process from the very start, picking ingredients and scents, and even “art-direct[ing] the visual components.”

“It was important to me to have a natural product that didn’t have a lot of dyes and chemicals. Our product has a natural golden color... doesn’t streak and smells delicious – not like a typical tanning product.” Lohan told about Sevin Nyne a while back.
