Advising on gameplay

2K Sports has already announced that Major League Baseball 2K10 will feature superstar Evan Longoria on the cover and now the company is saying that it has recruited another seven very good players to advise the developers on how the game mechanics are simulated in the upcoming title. The seven players will also be serving as spokesmen for the game.

The newly announced Players Council is made up of: Andrew Bailey, who is the relief pitcher of the Oakland Athletics and won 2009 American League Rookie of the Year and American League All-Star; Felix Hernandez, the starting pitcher of the Seattle Mariners and also 2009 American League All-Star; Jose Reyes, shortstop of the New York Mets and another All Star; Justin Morneau, first baseman of the Minnesota Twins and Most Valuable Player in 2006; Justin Verlander, who is the starting pitcher of the Detroit Tigers and another All Star player; Kendry Morales, first baseman of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and American League Player of the Month in August 2009 and Nelson Cruz, outfielder of the Texas Rangers.

Jason Argent, the vice president of marketing for 2K Sports, stated that “We look to partner with the top emerging talent every year to assist us in shaping our MLB 2K franchise. Working with these seven elite players to ensure our product is up to their standards presents a fantastic opportunity for 2K Sports. These players embody the 2K Sports brand, and we are excited to work with them on Major League Baseball 2K10.”

Major League Baseball 2K10 is set to be released on March 2 for the Xbox 360 home gaming console, the PlayStation 3, the PSP, the Nintendo Wii, the PS2, the Nintendo DS and the PC. 2K Spots is saying that it will be the best simulation of baseball on the gaming market and with the newly announced players advising it, it might just be.
