Settlers Of Catan Arrives in the Android Market

Undoubtedly, Settlers Of Catan is one of the most popular board game that emerged in the past few years, and it is already available for purchase on handsets running under Google's Android operating system.

Now available in six different languages, including English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, and Portuguese, the new mobile game can be purchased for $4.49 from the Android Market now.

This is the first version of the mobile game, optimized for use on standard and high-resolution smartphones, the development team behind it notes.

- Scrollable game board including zoom option
- Freely combinable game settings
- Situation-related music and sound effects

- Comprehensive tutorial
- The new scenario “The 4 Islands” and two additional game variants
- Info ticker line: Keep track of your fellow players’ actions while still keeping an eye on the game board.

The mobile game comes with the original “Settlers of Catan” rule set included into the mix, and offers users the possibility to chose from 3 different graphic sets, including the classic set or the original graphics from the US or German board game editions.

In the game, users can compete with up to four players for the building of the most settlements, the longest roads, or the largest army.

Provided that there are no other players available, computer-generated players will be there to compete against, including the pirate Jean, Vincent the merchant, or Sean the knight.

“The complete Seafarers expansion includes more than 10 additional scenarios with an extensive campaign and is available as an In App-Purchase. Become Harbormaster, discover new islands and extra game elements like ships, gold fields, treasures and pirates,” the game's description reads.

In the near future Catan on Android is also expected to get online multiplayer capabilities, the team behind the game notes.
