Watch Meyers say goodbye in his characteristic way

A clearly emotional Seth Meyers performed for the last time on Saturday Night Live and some of his old friends came to wish him well after 12 years of doing the show. The ensuing skit stole the show from Melissa McCarthy who was doing the Weekend Update.

Seth was sent off by some memorable figures on SNL. There was Stefon, played by Bill Hader and Amy Poehler who gave some insight on “the world outside the show,” describing what he can expect after he leaves SNL.

Finally, Andy Samberg also made an appearance, singing off-key a departure song but seeming to be surprised when announced that Meyers was leaving.

Seth broke tradition on SNL by addressing the issue directly and thanking fans for their support, as well as other cast members, “This is the job I always wanted, and I had the best time,” he said, overcome with emotion.

This marks the departure of one of SNL's longest running performances. In fact, Meyers has the second longest featured performer on the show throughout the year.
