An issue on children with incarcerated parents makes its debut on “Sesame Street,” as creators has included one muppet whose dad is in jail.

A fragment of the episode, titled ldquo;Little Children, Big Challenges: Incarceration” has been posted above.

According to the Daily Mail, writers intended to help children cope with the experience of having one parent in jail, with all which that entails, like explaining the parent's absence to friends.

However, some are accusing the show's creators of normalizing incarceration. The issue also shows that this is often a problem with families in the US, where one in 28 kids has at least one parent in the slammer.

“Congratulations, America, on making it almost normal to have a parent in prison or jail,” Reason.com writes.
