Serious Sam 3: BFE is set to receive a brand new DLC later this year called Jewel of the Nile, with Croteam and Devolver Digital revealing that three new missions await the protagonist of the franchise.
Serious Sam games have delighted fans by offering simple, yet hectic shooter experiences that put them in the shoes of Sam “Serious” Stone, who must always save the world from various kinds of monsters and aliens by using all sorts of impressive weapons.
Now, after last year’s Serious Sam 3: BFE
, developer Croteam and publisher Devolver Digital have unveiled the first story-based DLC for the game, titled Jewel of the Nile.
“Croteam and Devolver Digital have announced Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile, an all-new series of missions for the blockbuster gonzo-shooter Serious Sam 3: BFE that is set to release on PC October 2012,” the companies said.
“The explosive new expansion will contain three new campaign missions set within the story of Serious Sam 3: BFE and follow Sam “Serious” Stone as he tracks down a powerful artifact on an ancient island to swing the tide of battle against Mental’s invading alien horde.”
Jewel of the Nile fills some of the story from the regular BFE campaign, taking Sam on a series of three missions against the unrelenting aliens and introducing two familiar monsters. New weapons are also included in the DLC, while the secret items from BFE, the laser gun and sniper rifle, will be unlocked.
“Croteam is very excited about the reception Serious Sam 3: BFE received from our fans so we’ve worked really hard to make sure the Jewel of the Nile expansion tells more of Sam’s story and cranks up the insanity,” said Croteam’s Davor Hunski.
Expect to hear more about Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile as we get closer to its October release.
