They can act as both towers or flat-bed chassis

In many cases, what you see in a product as is only a matter of perspective, and that definitely applies to the newest cases that Lian Li introduced not long ago. There are three of them, only one featuring a form factor large enough for full-size motherboards.

In the attached photos, you can see the mini-ITX PC-05, the micro-ATX PC-06, and the ATX PC-07, cases put together for consumers who seek something less than ordinary for their homes.

Lian Li is actually pretty good at that, creating cases that are unlike any others on the market. Sure, the three that just came out aren't that shocking, design-wise, but they are built on a legacy of bizarreness nearly unmatched.

After all, who else would create a miniature case shaped like a spider, long legs and all, and call it Pit Stop PC? Sure, that was years ago but still.

Admittedly, those weird things never sold much, even though they were among the first devices that Lian Li ever made. Sure helped make sure the world knew about the company, though.

That's why word about the mini-ITX PC-05, the micro-ATX PC-06 and the ATX PC-07 has already spread.

The Lian Li PC-Series cases

Not a very imaginative name, PC-XX Series, but at least it gets to the point. Besides, Lian Li is betting on the design anyway, not the name.

All three cases are shaped like tubs and are made out of metal. A wide tray runs along the bottom, which holds the PC components neatly lined up and stacked.

Whether you place the case flat on the tabletop or leave it somewhere, standing, maybe hidden behind the desk itself, the hardware will be firmly affixed.

The ATX PSU bay is located near the front by the way, instead of the top rear. There's an optical drive bay too, as well as a pair of 3.5-inch bays (more on the larger models), which, of course, can hold 2.5-inch units as well.

Other things that deserve mentioning are the clear acrylic panel at the top (or side, depending on positioning) and the lone PCI Express 3.0 x16 riser, which allows you to install a video board alongside everything else a PC is supposed to have.

Availability and pricing

Both are details that continue to elude us, unfortunately. Probably because Lian Li doesn't plan to release them for a while yet. It's just looking for feedback for now, so feel free to comment on them and make suggestions.
