Series creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that “Glee” is over after season 6. The hit Fox musical series picked up again after Cory Monteith’s death this summer, but it won’t be for long, Murphy says.

As with every good thing in life, fans must have expected “Glee” to end someday as well. However, chances are they didn’t think it would happen so soon.

“It's really [expletive]-ing hard. It's hard. It's hard every day. It's hard in the writer's room. It's hard on the set. It just feels like... it's hard too because we're getting ready to wrap up a series. We're going to do one more year and that's it. So the last scene and the last stories were always very Cory heavy,” Murphy says, as cited by Us Weekly.

He’s already working on the final season, which is now going into an entirely different direction than what he had planned because of Monteith’s death.

“I have a good idea. I'm going in, in like a week, to tell the studio and the network how after Cory's unfortunate passing we can end the show, which I think is very satisfactory and kind of an end in his honor – which I love,” Murphy explains.
