Green group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has had some wacky ideas over the years, such as suggesting that fish killed in a traffic accident deserved a memorial, but it seems to me that the organization's latest proposal truly takes the cake when it comes to nuttiness.

Not to beat about the bush, the organization has recently suggested that the home of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered a total of 17 people, be converted into a vegan restaurant.

The house in question is located in the city of Akron in Ohio, US, and is believed to be the place where Jeffrey Dahmer began his career as a serial killer, i.e. the place where he made his first victim. Apparently, the house is now for sale and is valued at $295,000 (€215,217).

PETA is a firm believer in burying bad memories by replacing them with good ones, hence the suggestion that Jeffrey Dahmer's home should become a restaurant that serves no animal products.

“Rather than remaining as a stark reminder of its dark past, the building can instead become the site of a celebration of culinary compassion,” the organization writes on its website.

“Like Dahmer’s human victims, cows, pigs, and chickens are made of flesh and blood and fear for their lives when confronted by a man with a knife,” PETA goes on to argue.

Interestingly enough, the organization has even gone through the trouble of coming up with a name for this proposed vegan restaurant. Thus, it says that the establishment should be called “Eat for Life – Home Cooking.”

I don't know about you, but I for one doubt that PETA's proposal will fly. What do you think? Let me know in the comments section below.
