Semplice Linux 2.0 RC1 Officially Announced

Semplice Linux, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Debian's Sid unstable branch with the goal to provide a simple, lightweight, fast and cool environment, has made it to version 2.0 RC1.

The developers from the Semplice Project have stated that their Linux distribution, Semplice 2.0, is in the release candidate faze and will not receive new features, only bug fixes.

Among the most important changes in Semplice Linux 2.0 RC1 (a complete list can be found here), there are some worthy of mentioning: Linux kernel 3.1.4 (the 32-bit version uses the Debian 486 kernel, which does not support multiple cores and PAE), Openbox 3.5.0, Chromium 15.0.874.121, Gnumeric 1.10.17, Pidgin 2.10.0, and a much more.

Download Semplice Linux 2.0 RC1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
