They won't actually be built so fast, but the technology should be available by then

We already mentioned how IBM had posted a video about its initiatives, and we even put it up here for you to check it out if you missed out on it.

We figured that, besides the whole mind-controlled phones and computers bit, the energy recycling project could use a special mention, so here we are.

IBM plans to make it possible, within the next few years, to recycle kinetic and caloric energy.

Charging batteries from the movement of bicycle or just from jogging and walking is particularly appealing to the company.

Also, by harvesting the heat given off by computers, as well as the movement of whatever appliances and equipment exists in a household, it should be possible to build self-powered homes.

Furthermore, somehow recycling the kinetic energy of means of transportations, perhaps coupled with solar energy and the like, could lead to self-powered cities as well.

Basically, the future should be one with zero power bills and little enough energy waste that the environment will be safer than ever.
