And they said it wouldn't last: coming to shut down talk of breaking up, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have moved on to the next stage in their relationship – by adopting a pet together. The twosome were recently spotted being very affectionate towards each other during a recent game and now, People magazine has an explanation for the sudden PDA: they had just become “parents” to a gorgeous pup.
Before the big game, Justin and Selena dropped by a local animal shelter and were so won over by the puppies there that they decided to take one home with them.
“Winnipeg animal rescue D'Arcy's A.R.C. got a surprise visit from the young lovebirds, who stopped by for some canine therapy,”
People writes.
Apparently, Selena might have been the one who asked Justin for a new dog.
“They spent a lot of time with the puppies. I was told that [Gomez] was missing the dogs that she has at home,” D'Arcy Johnston, chief executive officer at the animal rescue center, says for the publication.
Selena has 5 other dogs at home, all of them adopted from various shelters she's been at throughout the years. She's always been very outspoken about adopting a pet instead of buying one from the pet store.
“I wasn't expecting her to adopt a dog while she was on tour and has a busy schedule,” Johnston tells people.
Nevertheless, it happened: Selena filled in all the forms and she got home to take the 10-week-old Husky home with her, but not before naming it Baylor, says the mag.

“Baylor probably would have had a bad life or a very short life. But he got rescued and brought to our shelter and is now going to live a very good life,” Johnston says.
