14 DAY TRIAL // After Selena Gomez fired her parents as her managers, it's become pretty clear that she needs new representation so the media is trying at the moment to pair her up with several big names in the industry that could handle her sizzling career.
Interestingly, the name that popped up on top of that list is Kris Jenner, the leader of the Kardashian clan, lovingly referred to as a “momager” by the media, due to her talents at very effectively promoting her daughters as well as the family brand and turning it into a multi-million dollar estate.
Insiders from Selena's camp told Hollywoodlife that the singer is reaching out to Kris and looking to see if she's willing to become her manager. According to the insider, Selena is putting much thought into the matter and she thinks that “it would be best to stay close to people who are managing her friends careers.”
“Both Justin and the Jenner sisters have given their best pitches and Selena is highly considering working with either Scooter [Braun] or Kris. One thing that is good out of this situation is that she’s really taking her time in making the decision. But both of them definitely have first dibs,” adds the source.
At the moment, Scooter Braun seems to be the runner-up in this manager race, simply because Selena wants to remain close to Justin, but Kris also pitches a pretty convincing battle. Her success so far in promoting all of her girls is her best calling card.
Of course, there are some voices saying Kris won't be well suited for Selena, and that Scooter would be a better deal for her. With all the work she's doing these days for all her girls, Kris might have little or no time to properly handle Selena's career, not to mention the fact that she's not a real producer per se.
Meanwhile, Scooter Braun is managing several artists at the moment and we know he has what it takes because of the success Justin Bieber is enjoying, despite the fact that he's trying his best to sabotage his own career.
While all of this is going on, Selena's parents are said to have been less than thrilled when they found out that their daughter was giving them the boot, and without forward notice, no less. “Selena remains close with both of her parents, although they’re not happy about the decision” says an insider.
