Flaunt magazine brings to light a different Selena Gomez. The Flaunt version of the Disney Channel star is more mature, showing enough skin to maintain a classy, vintage look in a film noir-inspired photo shoot.

In the photo shoot called “Selena Gomez. Escape from Cracker Barrel and the Search for Transcendence,” the 21-year-old is adopting a new hairstyle, rocking a black asymmetrical bob. Shot by Amanda de Cadenet, the photos see Selena wearing lacy black lingerie or oversized sweaters while lying on a bed.

Some of the pictures also feature another person, a young man who seems to be in the shadows watching the now matured Wizard of Waverly Place star.

Some might say that there is a recent trend where Disney stars are trying to look and feel more mature. Starting with Miley Cyrus and her fight against Hannah Montana through twerking, tongue sticking, and little-to-no-clothes performances, we now see Selena trying to adopt a new style.

There is no doubt, Selena's approach is very different from Miley's, but the trend can still be seen. Although still being perceived as a child star, the editorial presents Selena as a fully grown woman in a classy – even though skin-flashing – way.

Besides the sophisticated photos published by Flaunt magazine, there was also an interview in which Selena talked about the significance of her name, childhood memories, current accomplishments, and future goals.

While talking about the new style she adopted for the photo shoot, Selena has revealed the fact that people are constantly telling her that she is not hot enough. “Every day I get told I'm not [hot] enough or I'm not cool enough or if I did this or if I did that, I would have people who love me,” the Disney superstar says in Flaunt magazine.

Gomez has also told the magazine that she would like to shed some of that good girl image and play a New York gangster mole for Martin Scorsese, while getting into her dark side.
