14 DAY TRIAL // In April 2014, Selena Gomez pulled the plug on her very long and very successful working relationship with her parents, mother Mandy Teefey and stepdad Brian Teefey, who had managed her ever since she was a kid. Since then, rumor that she might want to take Kris Jenner on as her manager has not stopped making the rounds.
It’s picking up speed again in the blogosphere, after Kris posted a photo of the two on her official Instagram. Apparently, they spent some time together in Paris for Fashion Week and are “travel buddies.”

The photo in question is available below. Kris tagged it with the caption “My travel buddy @selenagomez !!!! Great time in Paris!!! #PFW #Paris #friends.” There’s an Air France ticket visible in the background, so probably this was snapped at the airport, as they were getting ready to go back to the US and LA, after the famous fashion event.
Kris was in Paris from start to finish of Fashion Week, accompanying daughter Kim, husband Kanye, and occasionally granddaughter North to all the major shows. Selena landed the other day and only made a couple of appearances, but it seems they still found plenty of time to hang out together.
The former Disney star is now at that awkward stage in her career in which she must reinvent herself as a grownup entertainer without alienating her existing fanbase. Or, as Britney Spears described it, “not a girl, not yet a woman.”
This is why she fired her parents as her managers, blindsiding them with the announcement: she thought she needed someone bolder, someone who would challenge and dare her more, thus helping her establish her new identity.
Kris Jenner could be the perfect manager
Well, Kris is nothing if not bold. She’s managing her entire family right now, and making a fortune off it. She has a cutthroat reputation and is said to be lacking scruples altogether when it comes to advancing her clients’ careers. Her bad luck makes it so that her clients are also her kids, and many believe there’s a conflict of interest here that she’s not handling well.
To speak in more accurate terms, Kris is said to have been the one to “leak” Kim’s homemade adult tape. That’s not an uncommon move for a manager, but for a mother to go out to various media outlets, offering to sell such intimate footage of her child, is unheard of.
This is why many of Selena’s fans fear what will happen to her if she does go with Kris as her manager. She will undoubtedly receive more media attention because she will be exposed more, but they think the price she will pay will be too high. The world doesn’t need another Miley Cyrus out of control.
For the time being, though, they can rest easy: even if Selena is thinking of hiring Kris, she’s with Katy Perry’s manager right now, so she will have to wait until his contract expires before getting someone new.
