Pop star comes under fire from fans after incident in Fairfax, Virginia

Selena Gomez was performing in Fairfax, Virginia over the weekend when, during “Slow Down,” she had a mishap that proved to her fans that she’s no stranger to lip-synching, because she fell off the stage but the music kept playing.

You can see the whole thing in the video above: the fall occurs at the 3:25 mark.

If you listen carefully, you can hear Selena scream over the music, which could mean that she’s not entirely lip-synching but rather singing over a pre-recorded song.

This might surprise certain fans, but this is common practice with many pop stars today, especially those who also have extensive choreography in their shows. It helps them do both at the same time, dance and sing. “Sing” is probably the best way to put it.

Still, many fans are disappointed, perhaps because they imagined Selena sang 100% live in her shows. Are you too among them?
