For some owners, colors aren’t as vibrant as they used to be

A few days ago we told you the NVIDIA Shield Tablet received a new update which brought about a number of new features.

The Shield Tablet already allowed owners to play Android games, as well as popular PC titles through streaming. Well, the new upgrade ads more PC games to the list of streamed PC games, for free.

NVIDIA usually adds new games each week on Tuesday, and from now on new content for the tablet will be made available on a weekly basis.

For now, the chip maker has rolled out Lego Harry Potter Years 5-8, PixelJunk Shooter and Grid 2 which will become available for free try-out after users update to 2.2.

The new build also adds improved battery life, broader support for high-performance chargers and overall performance enhancements. So it’s a worthy update overall.

The update has turned bitter for some users

Well, it appears that the update has some unwanted side effects. For select users, the new build brings about some strange color reproduction issues on their slates.

This problem is more easily spotted when the tab is displaying colors from the red and orange spectrum. What seems to be the trouble? The colors just look overly-dull (as seen at Android Police) and orange hues have a tendency to descent into slight brown tonalities.

NVIDIA has been contacted and asked to clarify the situation and they did come up with an answer. Apparently, the company is aware that some Shield Tablet owners are experiencing some changes in screen colors after the latest software update.

The company is currently working on a fix, so affected users should see their woes get resolved pretty soon.

Don’t get alarmed, if you have updated your Shield Tablet and you haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary by now, you’re probably just fine. More than that, this is not an issue that has the potential of rendering your tablet useless. It’s just the kind of thing that represents a slight annoyance.

If you do see some coloring incongruities on your slob, you could try going to Settings>Display>Color Correction and select “Native.”
