It will make even Polaroid's cheap model look expensive

I just covered the 50-inch Polaroid UHD TV that will show up at CES 2014 at a price of $1,000 / €735, but it turns out there's something even cheaper coming.

In fact, there's something even cheaper already available for order, according to Cnet News, so check your local retailer just in case you get lucky.

Granted, Seiki is a Japanese company so the new product might not have made it off the island nation yet, but you never know.

Anyway, Seiki has created a 50-inch UHD TV, model SE50UY04, bearing the price of $700 / €514 - €700 (depending on whether or not exchange rates are followed).

That's all we know. I suppose the lower price could suggest that only normal HDMI is supported, instead of HDMI 2.0 (for 60 Hz 4K streaming), but details are scarce.
