NASA has a couple of great shots of Venus all the way from Saturn by the Cassini craft

Venus is close enough to Earth that you can spot it with the naked eye, it's one of the brightest objects in the sky in fact. But to see any sort of detail you're going to need a powerful telescope. Sometimes though, you need to move further away for a better view.

NASA has published a couple of photos captured by the Cassini spacecraft orbiting Saturn in which our closest neighbor, Venus, is clearly visible.

The first image was shot last November, NASA used several images, sensitive to different parts of the light spectrum, to create the true color image you see above.

Images from the same period were used in the spectacular false color mosaic NASA published a while back.

The second image was shot in January from another perspective. Venus is visible in the upper side of the image, close to Saturn's edge. You'll notice a bright spot below it, that's actually a distant star.
