The seed notes for Apple’s latest Mac OS X 10.6.5 seed have arrived, courtesy of a source that generally takes it upon itself to publish said documentation with every new developer release from Apple.

The source in question mentions that Mac OS X 10.6.5 Build 10H531 is 570MB in size, as a barebones delta update, and contains six focus areas, including 3D Graphics, iCal, Mail, and QuickTime to name a few.

One known issue affects the build. Particularly, Apple tells developers that USB devices may stop working when VMWare is installed and after the computer wakes from sleep.

Surprisingly, the Mac maker did not include a list of applied fixes for this build, the source said.

The seed notes for Build 10H531 are provided as follows:

Known Issues

- Having VMware installed may prevent USB devices from working after waking from sleep

Focus Areas

- 3D Graphics - iCal - Mail - QuickTime - Time Machine - USB Devices

A separate report, by electronista, the Mac OS X 10.6.5 beta is said to contain references to AMD's Radeon HD 6000 series of graphics solutions.

References spotted in an ATIRadeonX3000 kernel extension found by Netkas indicates Apple is looking at the entire Southern Islands family, electronista reports.

This includes the Antilles Pro and XT parts that may be the initial mobile chips, the tech-focused site notes.

Mac OS X 10.6.5 is believed to have a short development cycle, mostly due to the small number of focus areas listed in the seed notes, as well as the few known issues documented in the three builds seeded so far to Apple’s developer community.

Mac OS X 10.6.5 supersedes Apple’s 10.6.4 incremental update released in June, when the company patched issues with Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications, included some fixes and improvements for Aperture 3, and dropped Safari 5.0.
