Developers have received the third pre-release build of OS X 10.5.5

Yesterday, thanks to AppleInsider, we were able to inform our readers that Apple had seeded the third beta build of its next update to Leopard (OS X 10.5.5). In the meanwhile, others have gotten hold of the actual seed notes for Mac OS X 10.5.5 build 9F17.

"Apple has increased the rate of builds being delivered to developers, today Mac OS X 10.5.5 build 9F17 was released less than a week after the previous build," World of Apple posts, adding that the latest build issued to developers contains no known issues and adds five fixes, to bring the total number of fixes to 120. The seed notes for Mac OS X 10.5.5 build 9F17, as revealed by the publication, are available below.

In previous seeds, Apple resolved issues with Control Elements and CoreUI, issues with Spotlight and Time Capsule backups, as well as those issues surrounding multiple TCP connections and Application Firewall. The problems occurring with Mail Sync and Preferences syncing, the Address Book Framework and Smart Groups, "set wake up times" and Power Management, and FileSync have also been removed since the beta release of 9F17.

Mac OS X 10.5.5, the next maintenance and security update for Leopard users, is (allegedly) due out in the following weeks. The latest two beta builds of 10.5.5 were seeded to devs less than a week away from the most recent seed, hinting at a close official release.
