I don't know about you, but one of the things I really hate is having to get up while watching something on TV in order to see who's calling on the phone, the phone being installed - obviously - at quite a distance from the couch. And the worst part is that, sometimes, the caller is a person I really didn't want to talk to right there and then (sample scenario: watching a romantic movie with the significant half, a nagging relative calls). There are several solutions to this problem available on the market, but one of
the most interesting and useful is the one presented by SmartHome.com, namely the TV Messenger with Remote.
The device is actually pretty useful, since it features a 14 caller log that stores the name, number, date, time and the number of times your caller has tried to reach you. At the same time, whenever one of the people in the list tries to reach you, his/her log entry is displayed on the TV screen. That's possible because the TV Messenger plugs between the VIDEO IN RCA jack of the TV set and the VIDEO OUT jack of the cable box, VCR, etc., and also connects to the phone jack. Quite obviously, for this device to work, the user must activate his/her Caller ID service the phone company.
The TV Messenger with Remote measures 20.32 cm x 7.62 cm x 12.7 cm, and - as the name says it - it comes with a 4-button remote that allows you to scroll and delete items in the log from a distance. The device is available for $109.99, which is kinda of expensive, but it's worth it if you want to have a nice evening in front of the TV, without having to get up in order to answer the phone all the time.
