XP computers will become more vulnerable over the years

More than 37 percent of computer users worldwide are still running Windows XP, even though Microsoft and security experts around the world explain that it’s crucial to switch to a modern OS before April 8, 2014.

Now Chester Wisniewski, senior security adviser at the Canadian branch of security company Sophos, explains that Windows XP will become more vulnerable as time passes by, especially because Microsoft would no longer patch flaws found in the operating system.

"Every time a new problem is found, those things will build on one another, month after month, and the risk will almost increase exponentially," Wisniewski was quoted as saying by Tom’s Guide.

Microsoft has also said in a blog post that once the company stops providing support for XP, the 11-year-old OS would become vulnerable forever, with no easy way to patch the platform and stay on the safe side.
