A gambler has managed to pocket AU$32 million (€25 million) at Australia’s Crown Casino with the help of someone who breached the establishment’s security cameras. The incident occurred several weeks ago.

According to The Herald Sun, an unauthorized individual was given remote access to the casino’s state-of-the-art security cameras. He used the images from the cameras to instruct a high-roller, who’s said to be foreign, how to place his bets at a game of cards.

The venue’s staff caught on to the scammer and booted him from the Crown Towers villa he was staying at, and he was banned from entering the complex. After that, the scammer reportedly returned to his country.

A VIP service manager, believed to be involved in the scam, was fired.

The scam is possibly the biggest one the Crown Casino has ever seen. An investigation into the matter has been launched.
