An application that keeps your Mac fast and private

Mac computers are much more secure than devices running Windows. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any cyber threats designed to target them.

This week, experts have uncovered a new Mac malware, and even a piece of ransomware that’s meant to lock the browsers of Mac OS X users.

Bitdefender has recently launched a new application that’s designed to keep Macs “fast and private.”

The application has four main features. One of them is created to allow users to free up some RAM when a certain threshold is passed. The great thing about the “free memory” feature is that it doesn’t kill all processes, but only the ones that are not utilized.

Mechanic also allows Mac users to monitor which of their applications have the bad habit of crashing. Unstable apps can be removed or reported to their developer.

In case you use Java on your Mac, it’s important to keep it updated since the component can be exploited by cybercriminals. Bitdefender Mechanic alerts you whenever there’s a commonly used piece of software that needs to be updated.

Last, but not least, Bitdefender Mechanic allows internauts to keep their data private by deleting the information stored by browsers and other applications with only one click.
