Britney Spears’s Circus tour has not been free of incidents, but the one that took place the other night, as the star was performing in Connecticut, is said to have been the most “shocking.” According to several reports, a drunk fan jumped on stage, past security, and tried to get close to Spears, who was besides herself with fear.

As Britney was doing her “Womanizer” encore, a seemingly inebriated young man jumped on stage and tried to make his way past the other dancers to get to the singer herself, presumably to dance with her. Police officers and the dancers managed to drag the man away, who was arrested for breach of peace and being uncooperative with the authorities. He was taken to the police, where it was established that he had been drinking, and was released on bail a couple of hours later.

“Cops tell TMZ a man was arrested last night after jumping on stage during Britney Spears’ concert at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut. Connecticut State Police say they arrested 20-year-old Kyle King – who they say had definitely been drinking – after ‘he charged on stage during Britney's encore performance of ‘Womanizer.’ Security and Brit’s backup dancers were able to stop King before he could come in contact with Spears – and he was arrested for breach of peace. The CSP says after King was taken into custody, he was being highly uncooperative – so they also booked him for interfering with police.” celebrity gossip website / paparazzi agency TMZ says of the incident.

Luckily, Britney Spears was not harmed in any way during the incident, but eyewitnesses tell the media that she was “incredibly spooked.” Nevertheless, she continued with her set and there were no other interruptions the entire evening. Similarly, a short while ago, Britney left the stage in the middle of her act because she was bothered by the pot smoke coming from the crowd, and returned only about half an hour later to resume the gig.

At the beginning of April, as Spears was performing in Pittsburgh, a stage prop – some sort of elevator – that was supposed to lift the singer off the ground and the bring her back, seemed extremely unsteady, prompting fans to believe it might give way under Britney’s weight in mid-air. Just a couple of days ago, a dancer ripped off a big chunk of Spears’ hair extensions, as he tried to get a grip around her to lift her in the air, in what was yet another incident that made all the headlines.
